Tire Warranty: Everything You Need to Know Before and After Purchase

What Is a Tire Warranty?

A tire warranty is a commitment from the manufacturer to repair or replace any tire that develops a defect in materials or workmanship within a specified period. Unlike most products, whose warranties typically range from one month to one year, tires come with a much longer warranty period, sometimes up to 6 years or until the tread is fully worn, due to their continuous exposure to harsh driving conditions.

All tires sold by kafaratplus are covered by the manufacturer's limited warranty, which covers everything that falls under the manufacturer's responsibility, such as workmanship quality and material quality. In some cases, additional warranties may also be available, such as free trial periods or mileage-based warranties.

On the other hand, the warranty does not cover situations beyond the manufacturer's control, such as:

  • Neglecting routine maintenance
  • Accident-related damage
  • Driving on a flat or deflated tire
  • Intentional damage

Tire Warranty Period

The warranty period is calculated in months or years starting from the date of purchase, or from the vehicle delivery date if the car is new.

How to Prove Tire Ownership

  • Original purchase invoice
  • Vehicle registration certificate
  • If no documentation is available, the TIN number printed on the tire's sidewall is used to determine its manufacturing date

When Does the Warranty Period End?

The warranty period automatically ends once tread wear reaches 1.6 mm, the point at which the tread blocks become level with the wear indicators.

Uniformity Warranty (Manufacturing Quality Consistency)

Despite the high precision of the manufacturing process, slight variations between tires may occur, which is why all tires undergo a comprehensive inspection before leaving the factory.

If a ride disturbance is confirmed to result from a defect in the tire or its material, this typically becomes apparent early on, and the defective tire is replaced as soon as it is identified, generally before tread wear reaches 2 mm, or within the first 6 to 12 months of use.

After this period, ride issues are usually attributed to road damage or maintenance neglect rather than manufacturing defects.

Important Note: Requests to replace all four tires at once will not be accepted, as this indicates no attempt was made to identify the actual defective tire.

Materials and Workmanship Warranty

This warranty covers any defect that falls under the manufacturer's responsibility, whether in workmanship quality or the materials used.

  • During the first year, or once 25% of the tread is worn (whichever comes first): the customer receives a free tire replacement, excluding shipping fees.
  • After that, and for the remainder of the warranty period: replacement cost is calculated on a prorated basis, based on the tire's remaining unused lifespan.
